Tidy Planet wishes you a very Merry Christmas

It’s hard to believe we’re coming to the end of 2019 already – where has the time gone?!
But we’ve been doing a spot of reflection here at Tidy Planet, looking back at the last 12 months and everything we’ve achieved – it’s safe to say it’s been a whopper of a year!
Now, we’re not into blowing our own trumpet, however, given it’s Christmas, we didn’t want to waste the opportunity for a little celebratory fanfare – or a cheesy pun, for that matter!
So, without further ado, here are our top 10 highlights from 2019…
Winning three major oil and gas projects
It’s been a fantastic year for helping oil and gas heavyweights with their food waste. We’ve delivered two of the projects in full, one to Algeria and one to Iraq, and the third mighty one is currently in-build.
This final project from 2019 sees us equip the customers entire Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) for a gas terminal in Indonesia with a composting plant for five tonnes per day – using our biggest B2500 composters, plus an industrial wood shredder, plastics granulator and metals baling system.

We hit the BBC News headlines
Seeing our work with Les Alchimistes on the BBC News homepage was a magical moment for the team here at Tidy Planet HQ!
We attended a full-day of filming in Paris, with Les Alchimistes and BBC journalist Dougal Shaw, witnessing the entire collection-composter process.
Celebrating our biggest year to date!
Finally, it’s been a record year for the number of machines sold, enquiries received and appearances in the media. In a nutshell, it’s been the most successful 12 months for the business!
Tidy Planet really is going from strength to strength, and we’d like to thank all our business partners, colleagues, distributors, family and friends (new and old) for all your support over this past year – here’s to making 2020 even bigger!
Supporting Raymond Blanc’s sustainability drive
The globally acclaimed chef has invested in one of our A1200 Rocket Composters for his luxury hotel and restaurant Belmond Le Manoir au Quat’ Saisons, in Oxfordshire.
It’s an absolute honour to have our machinery at this Michelin-starred site, converting its food and organic wastes into compost for its gardens and orchards.
Taking France by storm
As well as assisting our friends at Les Alchimistes with their Parisian projects – transforming disused car parks and islands into composting hubs – we’ve been helping lead the food waste revolution in other parts of the country too, via our second French distributor, Upcycle.
The firm is dedicated to the circular life of organics and has installed 17 composters to date – watch this space for more updates in the New Year…
The B1400 Rocket Composter was born
At the start of the year, the machine – a double-U-shaped, twin-shaft portable system – was specially commissioned by our French distributor Les Alchimistes to process two tonnes of biowaste per day. So, it was shipped to Paris, for their food waste composting project in the middle of the capital’s River Seine.
The project and the business model have proven to be such a success that we have a second B1400 in build – which is due for dispatch to them in the New Year. We’re hearing that there are going to be quite a few more of the units to follow this duo, as 2020 progresses…
Our Norwegian expansion
2019 was also the year we extended our equipment offering into Scandinavia!
We partnered with waste management firm Berefkraft for Alle, to provide composting solutions to process the country’s food, green and animal wastes, as well as sewage sludges.
Welcoming a new member on board
Later in the year, we waved hello to our new project engineer, Richard Hart.
He has over 30 years’ experience within the engineering sector, and he is in charge of heading up our medium and large-scale composting and Energy-from-Waste projects.
He’s a fantastic addition to the team and we couldn’t imagine life without him at TP towers!
Being named as Workplace of the Week
So, we might have made the national media buzz with our composting project, but we also enjoyed local fame by scooping up Silk 106.9’s Workplace of the Week accolade!
You can catch up on the host’s interview with our MD Simon Webb, here!
Delivering a talk at RWM 2019
Our MD Simon Webb took to the stage to talk about Tidy Planet’s journey into the world of Waste-to-Energy (WtE) and the projects we’ve worked on to date.
It was a great platform to speak about our RDF/SRF WtE solutions and how companies can harness the resource potential of unconventional fuels.
Important dates: Please note that we’re closed between 25th Dec – 2nd Jan.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
