OUR WASTE TO ENERGY PLANTS ARE DESIGNED TO TREAT PROBLEMATIC CONTAMINATED ORGANIC WASTES
INCLUDING GRADE C WOOD FINES, ANAEROBIC DIGESTION SCREENINGS, CAT 1 INTERNATIONAL CATERING WASTE, COMPOSTED OVERSIZE, POULTRY FEATHERS, FISH MORTALITIES AND MATERIALS WITH INHERENTLY LOW BULK DENSITY OR PARTICLE SIZES
Problematic can be summed up in many ways, either the waste is costly to process by other methods because it has “hard to separate” contamination with it, in the form of plastics or other none organics, or because the waste has very unusual fluid, moisture content or particle size characteristics that other waste to energy systems have trouble processing.
The Tidy Planet systems comply with the (WID & IED) Industrial Emissions Directive and the by product of heat from the process can be used to generate electricity, or the useable heat generated can be transferred in the form of steam, thermal oil or high pressure hot water. Because of the systems many innovations, materials of up to 50% moisture content can be treated and materials that have particle size of less than 1.0mm.
Types of furnaces depending on the biomass/waste characteristics
Depending on the characteristics of the biomass or waste to be used, SUGIMATprovides different types of furnaces which are designed to deal with different characteristics of certain wastes, this way we ensure that we supply a plant that performs to its optimum. Some of these examples are listed below:
Cylindrical Automatic Furnace with feeding stoker:
Fuels
- Sawdust
- Wood chips
- Poplar
- Almond shell
- Crushed material as sawdust
- Cork
- Dust
- Other
Advantages
- Cost-effective installation
- Little room needed for the installation
- Fast implementation
- Pre-manufactured in our workshop
Equipment
- Furnaces built in refractory material with a high content of alumina and insulation
- Monobloc unit
- Automatic feeding system with motorreducer
- Melting crucible and special grates
- Inspection door
- Automatic feeding system with fire-detecting system
- Control and safety devices built-in
- Special chrome cast iron grates
- Special exhaust gas duct in case of emergency
Travelling Grate System:
SUGIMAT installs this type of grate to use with medium-sized granulated fuel, treated or not. The biomass to burn can have a high ash content and a medium-low percentage of moisture content. These machines can work at high capacity. Cleaning is automatic , therefore they are suitable to intensive productive activities that work non-stop on a regular basis.
Fuels
- Pulp and pit of the olive fruit
Dried grape pressings
- Coal
- Olive stone
- Straw pellets
- Charcoal pellets
- Wood pellets
- Woody Oversize
- AD Screenings
- Contaminated wood
Advantages
- Automatic cleaning
- Highly automatised
- Emission reduction
- Automatic feeding system
- Highly efficient
- Possibility of burning at low temperature with a cool-walled furnace
- Easy to maintain
Equipment
- Travelling cast-iron grate
- Electrically drive
- Adjustable grate movement speed
- Automatic cleaning
- Combustion chamber built in refractory material with high alumina content and high-quality insulating material
- Built-in safety and control devices
Dust Injection System
The combustion of powdered biomass and fuels that behave similar to fluids is made possible in this type of combustion chamber and feed system. Thus, the fuel size is very small and contains lower levels of moisture. These furnaces are suitable for medium power ranges and for intensive productive activities. They can work autonomously or as a part of another type of furnace.
