How to compost Vegware catering disposables

In collaboration with Vegware and Dundee and Angus College we explain how it's possible to do away with single use plastics and turn to compostable tableware. The use of these items then allows the operator to compost them on site using a Rocket in vessel composting system and produce a valuable product that can be re-used on the same site

Tidy Planet Dragon CAT1 ICW Plant DHL & British Airways

Tidy Planet in collaboration with DHL Envirosolutions implemented a world first for British Airways in flight catering centre at Colnbrook near Heathrow airport. Where the previously landfill destined CAT1 international catering wastes were disposed at great cost, they now produce energy at site to generate heat for the immense tray washing systems

Dehydra Dewaterer and Rocket Composter

At Exclusive Hotels South Lodge Venue, the food wastes generated are pre-treated by the Dehydra Dewatering system before being composted and recycled on site by the A900 Rocket Composter. The compost destined for use in the kitchen gardens. This short video shows how even Michelin starred restaurants can deal with their wastes on site

Tidy Planet G600+ Above operational video

A short video to help explain the operational aspect of the range of Gobi dryers from 600kg per day and above, the method of use, loading and unloading the units

Dragon Food Waste Biomass Energy Plant

Tidy Planet are very happy to announce the long awaited Dragon, food waste to biomass energy plant. The scalable system can be specified for packed / unpacked food wastes and volumes from 200kgs per day up to 20 or 200 tonnes per day. The system can be eligible to receive government incentives and this hugely robust and simple solution is contaminant tolerant and suffers none of the foibles that the comparable anaerobic digestion or composting have with biology. The outputs from the system, condensed steam and 1.100th of ash, take little dealing with and this sure fire system eliminates food waste disposal costs and produces useable energy right at source.

Tidy Planet Cogeneration system at KFCs Wincanton Ecostore

KFC’s new flagship sustainable flagship store at Wincanton is being powered by its own used cooking oil. The CHiP which is Tidy Planet’s on-site, used cooking oil, combined heat and power system is producing all the hot water and up to 15% of the electricity that the restaurant needs. This sustainable initiative, along with several other like LED lighting and water saving measures have made this store a LEEDS certified green building.

British Airways food waste solution by DHL

This short video was made by DHL to demonstrate their solution for category one and category 3 contaminated food waste that is coming from international flights to the UK. The dryers being used are two Gobi GD1200 dryers, each with a capacity of 1.2 tonnes per day. The dried food residues are then screened to remove the non-organic contamination which is then recycled as dry mixed recyclate. The clean dry organic food waste residues can then be pelletised to turn them into a renewable biomass fuel.

Tidy Planet DEHYDRA Food Waste Dewatering System

Tidy Planet’s De-Hydra de-waterers are designed for commercial kitchens that are looking for a clean and simple way to reduce the weight and volume of their food wastes prior to being disposed of. The system is a perfect pre-treatment solution prior to composting, an-aerobic digestion, food waste collection or waste to energy as the De-Hydra reduces the weight and volume by up to 80% thereby reducing your disposal costs by similar amounts.

Tidy Planet GOBI Food Waste Dryer

Tidy Planet’s Gobi Dryers are the simplest way to process waste organics to remove the water from them. This makes them easier and cheaper to store and transport and can often transform them from waste into useful end products like animal feed, fertiliser or biomass fuel.
