SUGIMAT – Combustion and Boiler
Sugimat have been manufacturing industrial boilers for solid wastes for 40 years.
As specialists in thermal oil boilers and manufacturers of bespoke combustion systems to work with variable fuels, the company is ideally suited to provide waste-fuelled furnaces and boilers.
With innovations at the forefront, Sugimat can offer either the revolutionary new Horizon+ heat exchanger or conventional configuration coil and battery boilers – with automatic ash cleaning. These offer a significant reduction in downtime for cleaning and enhanced energy output efficiency, by minimising problems caused by ash build up – even with fuels with up to 30% ash content.
In addition, they can offer the world-leading Computer Vision Control System – an automated computer-controlled process that continually monitors the flame front in the combustion process 24/7.
By constantly adapting the combustion parameters, including grate speed, fuel feed, and the air flows to the combustion chamber, the combustion process is always optimised. This is a huge advantage when working with variable quality fuels that fluctuate on an hourly basis.
TURBODEN – Electricity Production
Turboden has been a global leader in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of Organic Rankline Cycle (ORC) systems since 1980. As a group company of MHI (Mitsubishi Heavy Industries) – one of the world’s leading heavy machinery manufacturers – it has innovation and performance at its core.
The Turboden ORC system works most efficiently when using high temperature thermal oil as its heat source and offers many advantages over conventional steam turbines, including up to 25% electricity production efficiency.
The use of organic fluid rather than steam has a number of advantages. Lower rotational speeds and mechanical stresses – leading to decreased turbine and component wear and maintenance downtime – plus the avoidance of corrosion commonly found in steam systems.
The result is a system ideally suited to high-efficiency, smaller-scale electricity production with guaranteed uptime of 98% and simple, reliable operation
GLOSFUME – Gas Filtration and Emissions Abatament
Since 1990, Glosfume has been leading the way in Hot Gas Ceramic Filtration and Dry Scrubbing to ensure full compliance with emissions legislation. It is critical that both particulate, acid gas, and other pollutants are dealt with effectively and continuously to remain compliant and safe.
Fortunately, our partnership with Glosfume for the system ensures we not only meet emissions requirements but exceed them every time.
Q TOPLOADER – Fuel Storage and Feed System
Tidy Planet offer in partnership with Q Toploader a fully automated storage and feeding system capable of storing and feeding a wide range of solid wastes without the need for a front loader.
With a proven track record of automated handling of RDF, SRF and Wood Wastes amongst others we dramatically reduce handling, labour and running costs when coupled with the Tidy Planet SWIP system.

SCOPE OF SUPPLY
FUEL STORAGE AND FEED SYSTEM
Specified to hold up to 3 days worth of material with a BD of 150kg/m3. 3 individual tunnels, having an overall capacity of 1920m3. Configured to deliver up to 4tonnes per hour of fuel.
The unit is specified so that bulk haulage walking floor can deliver directly into the tunnel and the product be moved automatically by the toploader, eliminating the need for a wheeled loader to be moving materials.

FUEL COMBUSTION AND HEAT GENERATION
Hydraulic variable speed High alloy EN 1.4823: Cr27 Ni4 inclined moving grate with interlocking grates and low friction ball carriage
Hydraulic continuous motion transverse reciprocating dry ash and slag extractor system
Combustion chamber constructed from high Alumina refractory and ensuring 850oC/2 second residence time for IED compliance
Automatic auxiliary Diesel/Gas burner for pre-heating to 850oC at start up and guarantee of IED temp compliance
Radiation body and convection batteries
Thermal oil boiler comprised of 1 x SH-60/8000 type single pass coil heat exchanger with 2 x CCB heat exchange batteries for maximum heat transfer efficiency. Includes automatic compressed air de-ashing enabling maintenance of high efficiency and elimination of manual cleaning.

Computer Vision – Combustion Management System
24/7 automated computer controlled process that continually monitors the flame front in the combustion process. Constantly adjusts the grate speed, material flow and air flows to the combustion chamber and ptimises the combustion process.

Acoustic attenuated fans for introduction of Primary, Secondary, Tertiary air and recirculation of flu gas for NOx reduction and high temperature exhaust fan for holding negative pressure in the system
Thermal Oil, Pumps, Tanks
Double circuit and Short circuit circulation pump sets, valves and pipework plus 30,000l holding tank and Expansion tank. Includes 6 MW Heat dump for dissipation of excess heat.
CEMS and Monitoring
Continuous Emissions Monitoring System – Measuring SO2, NOx, CO, COT, HCl, HF, O2, H2O, Particulate, Pressure and Temperature and all instruments for safe plant operation.
PLC Control System with HMI touch screen, Scada Ignition and remote monitoring controlling all key function of the process and integrating with all elements in SWIP system.
Includes structures, stairs, platforms and ladders to access to the whole plant, including angled stairs to ease the maintenance of the plant.
