TidyPlanet in the press
See what The Times said about our plans to make our planet a tidier place..

simon2 Simon Webb has been Tidy Planet’s proud managing director for the last 8 years. He’s always had a fascination with speed and engineering – from an early age he could take almost anything apart and put it together again, except his Mum’s car, which he drove into a swimming pool aged 18 months. By 17 he had built his own Land Rover from scrap and went on to study automotive engineering at Coventry University. Simon shares a love of horticulture with his Dad, the late John Webb, and together they set about developing the Rocket® Composter with a view to reducing organic waste to landfill back in 1998. A bit of a green pioneer, Simon spends his free time putting his love of the environment and mechanical brain together dreaming up sustainable solutions that help keep the planet beautiful and tidy.

sallyanne Sallyanne Rogers is Tidy Planet's roving sales manager based in her rural hometown of Gloucestershire where her love of the land stems from. Sallyanne's passion for preserving, respecting and giving back to our planet struck a cord with our own mission to keep the planet tidy. Sallyanne has worked in the food waste management industry for 5 years so not only has great knowledge of all emerging solutions but also has the gift of being a great listener and being apt at solving customers waste problems.
sharon-tidy-planet Sharon Turner is Tidy Planet's Operations Manager.
Sharon is passionate about the environment and particularly all of her four legged friends that live in it. Whether it's wooing a new customer or testing her juggling skills, Simon likes to keep her busy managing his ridiculous schedule whilst also looking after all the operations at Tidy Planet. Sharon's media background stand's her in good stead to manage the huge variety of tasks and enquiries that flood through the door at Derwent House, so when she escapes from behind her desk, she keeps calm by spending time with her beautiful chocolate Labrador "Beau" and by riding her horse!

gareth_davies Gareth Davies is our ex chef turned researcher, so his first hand knowledge of the kitchen and food waste has made him very aware of the importance of waste audits and enthusiastic to perform all kinds of analyse our customers' wastes. Gareth is also kept busy assisting customers with signing up for UK Government and EU renewable schemes and is also completing his own Environmental Science degree with the Open University. If he gets any spare time, Gareth can be found scaling the heights of Snowdonia, mountain biking in the Lake District or dabbling in a little real ale brewing at home.
Chris Hennesey
Chris Hennessy is Tidy Planet’s Environmental and Training Specialist. Before Tidy Planet, Chris worked as the Environmental Manager at Marconi and a co-coordinator at Rotters in Liverpool who were one of the first community composters to use The Rocket®. Chris is passionate about golf, reading, compost and getting environmental issues higher up the political agenda.
Doug Boyle

Doug Boyle is a serious compost enthusiast- it is also his favourite hobby (along with Gardening and Real Ale). Douglas has had all kinds of exotic jobs, a hydrographic surveyor in the Royal Navy, the six-day war in 1967, and during his 23 years as a geologist  including diamond exploration in Amazonia and Greenland and building fortified barracks in Angola. Doug has over 20 years' experience in composting and was one of the first users of the Rocket®. He recently moved to Brazil where he intends to launch the Rocket and the Tidy Planet philosophy in a large country with an expanding economy. Contacts with Tidy Planet and Scotland will, despite the distance, remain strong.

Gwen

Gwen Powell turned her passion for composting anything and everything, wool amongst other things, into a consultancy business called kompostTM - on site food waste compostingTM. Gwen was born in South Africa but is now the proud owner of her very own British Passport, which makes her love for travelling much easier to enjoy.  Gwen is a certified Master Composter and now assists Tidy Planet with training the Rocketeers (operators) and she hopes to enthuse everyone she meets with her love of composting.  She has a particular soft spot for vermicomposting (worm composting) but loves the end product which the Rocket® produces.
