HOW IT WORKS

Utilising the existing installed food waste disposer / macerator, the Dehydra retrofit dewatering system is coupled directly to the current outlet. Instead of the shredded food wastes being sent straight to sewer, these are caught by the Dehydra pump and spun through the Hydro extractor. The excess liquids from the food wastes plus the water added by the disposer at the start of the process are screened by a fine 1mm mesh screen and gravity fed to sewer. The solid food residues are screw fed and deposited into a waiting receptacle that sits within the footprint of the unit. The Dehydra system has a bin level sensor which is attached through a new control panel to the macerator, switching the whole system off when the bin approaches full. Because the solid fraction of the food waste is captured the system is compliant with the current SEPA and DOENI legislation for food waste collection and treatment.
