These rather clever products help take high moisture content out of food waste which reduces the volume dramatically or makes it prefect fodder for composting in Tidy Planet’s Rocket. If space is limited these products come into their own by reducing the number of food waste bins needed. If you’re still planning on having food waste collected then they will significantly reduce the weight of your waste and so greatly reduce your waste disposal bills.
Here at Tidy Planet we want to provide you with the right food waste de-waterer to suit your requirements. This is why we exclusively offer Ecofast’s De-Hydra waste disposer and de-watering system that uses a Red Goat food waste grinder as well as offering Meiko’s AZP80 food waste treatment system, Disperator’s food waste de-waterer, IMC’s Wastepro, the Hobart Ecolo 355 and the Fowex food waste extractor that is made by Bitschnau. Food waste de-waterers are also known as pulpers, waste extractors, food waste recovery units and even as “The Pig” by one of our customers.
Here’s what they de-water:
- Cooked & Uncooked Meat & Fish
- Cooked & Uncooked Fruit & Vegetables
- Small bones

You’ll find our de-waterers and waste disposal systems in operation at a wide range of sites around the UK, including:
- Regents College, London
- University of Birmingham
- The Lensbury Club, Teddington
- Environment Agency
- Warwickshire County Council
- BP in Georgia
De-waterers can help you achieve better recycling targets by encouraging source separation of food waste as it’s generated. Whether you want to de-water preparation waste or plate scrapings, our food waste de-watering systems take the hassle out of the separation process by treating all food wastes and removing excess liquid. This helps avoid heavy, leaky and smelly bins by sending the liquid safely down the drain whilst recovering the solid food waste. Your remaining solid food waste doesn’t have to go to landfill, for advice on cheaper and more sustainable solutions just give us a call on 01625 666798.

Whether you are looking for a self cleaning system like the De-Hydra or a water saving system like the AZP80 and the De-Hydra or if you simply want to choose a system to match your existing equipment like the IMC Wastepro we can help you make the right choice.
We currently offer the following commercial food waste de-waterers; Ecofast De-Hydra, Meiko AZP80 and IMC Wastepro. The Disperator will be available later this year.

ECOFAST: DE-HYDRA
|
The DeHydra is the only self cleaning food waste de-watering system and this helps save time and money in the kitchen whilst eliminating smells associated with food residues. The De-Hydra is also the only food waste de-watering system that can be supplied as a compact food waste disposer and de-waterer system as well as being able to be located remotely and up to 60m away from the food waste disposers. This flexible design means that it can be fed from multiple food waste disposers, which keeps costs down. The DeHydra has a very fine 1mm screen that ensures that only the finest food particles are allowed to go to drain. The DeHydra helps avoid blocked and smelly drains whilst also removing more water than a screw press type system, this means less weight in the bin, less suspended solids in the drain and that means lower disposal costs. The de-watered food residue that is discharged from the De-Hydra can be collected in 20, 25 litre bins or 120 litre wheelie bins which ensures that manual handling regulations can be adhered to.

MEIKO AZP80
|
The Meiko AZP80 has an internal water recirculating system to reduce water-running costs and to limit the amount of suspended solids that are sent to the drains. This system is a combined food waste macerator and de-watering system that Meiko have developed to provide customers with a robust, environmentally sustainable food waste disposal option. The AZP80 can be supplied as a freestanding system or as part of a Meiko dishwashing system. The AZP80 has an internal tank that collects and re-circulates the water. The de-watered food residue that is discharged from the AZP80 can be collected in 120 litre wheelie bins, which ensures that manual handling regulations can be adhered to.

IMC: WASTEPRO
|
The IMC Wastepro is a simple screw press type food waste de-waterer that can be located under the sink or worktop right where the food waste is being generated. The compact size of the Wastepro means that when space is a problem it is often possible to locate the Wastepro where other systems won’t fit. The Wastepro has a simple design which means that it can be easily taken apart for daily cleaning and periodic maintenance. The Wastepro can be supplied as an addition to an existing food waste disposer or as part of a self contained food waste treatment system where it is integrated into either a standard sized or bespoke bench unit. The de-watered food residue that is discharged from the Wastepro can be collected in 20 or 25 litre bins, which ensures that manual handling regulations can be adhered to.
