The AA Hospitality Awards are widely considered amongst the most prestigious national awards of their kind and draw on the knowledge and expertise of the AA inspectorate and other industry professionals involved in the judging process.
Simon Numphud from AA Hospitality Services commented: “The ‘Eco Hotel Group of the Year’ is awarded through recognition of excellence and success within businesses that focus on core values and take strong measures to tackle environment issues of the 21st-Century; Exclusive Hotels and Venues is recognised for having implemented a variety of both state-of-the-art and simplistic designs and approaches in order to reduce their impact of the environment.”

Exclusive Hotels and Venues’ ‘Exclusively Green’ initiative has resulted in a number of projects being implemented across the portfolio in the last 12 months that reflect the achievement in securing this award. One particular initiative that is fully supported by all of Exclusive’s chefs and kitchen staff is the ‘Food Heroes’ project, an enterprise that involves the promotion of local suppliers, ensuring that the very best seasonal produce is developed into exciting and varied menus at each establishment. In addition, each hotel strives for reduced food miles; to support this venture each hotel has developed extensive kitchen gardens, many with recently installed poly-tunnels to regulate climate and ensure optimal growth of seasonal fruits and vegetables. The Exclusive Group value the importance of British produce, and will often pay more for seasonal UK sourced produce rather than imported cheaper substitutes.
The Exclusive Group continues to make a conscious effort to reduce their carbon footprint. By installing a Biomass boiler at The Manor House, an Exclusive Hotel & Golf Club, the hotel saves approximately 60 tonnes of C02. Pennyhill Park, an Exclusive Hotel & Spa is due to install a Biomass boiler in the coming months. Biomass is a sustainable fuel that is sourced within the UK, not only does it benefit the environment, sourcing biomass creates and supports local businesses and helps to sustain the local economy.
Danny Pecorelli, Managing Director of Exclusive Hotels and Venues commented; “Being environmentally responsible is high up on both ours and our guests’ agenda so we are absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious award – it is a testament to the dedication of all the teams across Exclusive who work tirelessly to ensure our green credentials are supported through the implementation of responsible, measurable and continuous processes that fold naturally into our working lives. We are immensely proud and it will spur us on to work even harder to reduce our impact on the environment.”
The AA Eco Hotel Group of the Year 2015 Award was presented to, Danny Pecorelli, Managing Director of Exclusive Hotels and Venues at the AA Hospitality Awards ceremony at Grosvenor House on 6th October 2015.
