TidyPlanet in the press
See what The Times said about our plans to make our planet a tidier place…
simon2 Simon Webb has been Tidy Planet’s proud managing director for the last 8 years. He’s always had a fascination with speed and engineering – from an early age he could take almost anything apart and put it together again, except his Mum’s car, which he drove into a swimming pool aged 18 months. By 17 he had built his own Land Rover from scrap and went on to study automotive engineering at Coventry University. Simon shares a love of horticulture with his Dad, the late John Webb, and together they set about developing the Rocket® Composter with a view to reducing organic waste to landfill back in 1998. A bit of a green pioneer, Simon spends his free time putting his love of the environment and mechanical brain together dreaming up sustainable solutions that help keep the planet beautiful and tidy.
huwphoto Huw Crampton Tidy Planet’s other Director has worked for over 4 years at Tidy Planet, taking The Rocket® and the good Tidy Planet word to places as distant as Georgia in the former Soviet Union and Chad in Africa. Most of Huw’s previous experience has been in the motor trade, but he is also rather good at buying and selling businesses - particularly pubs, although nowadays, he just drinks beer in them.
Richard_Harland
Richard Harland is Tidy Planet's Sales Director. Being a family man he is very waste aware and has a genuine desire to reduce the impact we have on the environment.  Richard and his family share many passions including a love of walking, cycling & visiting National Trust properties; but the subject that Richard and his sons especially love is motorbikes. Richard has a wealth of experience in Sales and can't wait to get stuck in developing the sales team and increasing Tidy Planet's exposure.
Sam-inside Sam Wareing is Tidy Planet’s Sales Manager. Sam confesses he came over from the dark side as he used to sell 4x4s! However, he has now managed to redeem himself after three and a half years at Tidy Planet, helping businesses find more environmentally friendly waste solutions. Sam is also rather sporty- taking part in mountain biking, boxing and football.
Warwick1 Warwick Franklin is in charge of Tidy Planet’s Business Development . Being a Kiwi, Warwick has ‘greenness’ in his blood, proof being his passion for home composting most things except Maizy the dog. Don’t be fooled by Warwick’s gentle tree hugging ways, he has been known to perform the Kiwi-Haka on a night out! Warwick has worked in the Waste Management Sector for several years and is passionate about growing the Food Waste Sector.
david David Guymer is one of Tidy Planet’s super sales team. His background is in customer service and telemarketing, and he is currently adding another string to his bow by completing an NVQ course in Customer Service in his spare time. David likes running, sailing, DIY and jumping out of planes.
Vicky-cycling Vicky Orchard is one of Tidy Planet’s newest recruits and it hasn’t taken her long to earn the title of ‘office angel’. Not only does she help keep all the Tidy Planet Team on track, but she also helps Dave with Sales Desk admin and ensures the smooth running of pretty much everything. Vicky has worked in Media and PR in London for many years but we’re very glad the lure of horses, hills and the great outdoors led her to our Tidy Planet door here in Macclesfield.
anthony3 Anthony Wilkinson is Tidy Planet’s Service Engineer. A keen mechanical engineer, Anthony’s career has seen him working in paper machines and dangling from cranes. At age five, Anthony decided he wanted to captain the English Rugby team, now however, he just settles for watching them.
Chris Chris Hennessy is Tidy Planet’s Environmental and Training Specialist. Before Tidy Planet, Chris worked as the Environmental Manager at Marconi and a co-coordinator at Rotters in Liverpool who were one of the first community composters to use The Rocket®. Chris is passionate about golf, reading, compost and getting environmental issues higher up the political agenda.
Doug Doug Boyle is a serious compost enthusiast- it is also his favourite hobby (along with Gardening and Real Ale). Douglas has had all kinds of exotic jobs, including diamond exploration in Greenland and building fortified barracks in Angola. Doug has over 23 years experience in composting and geochemistry and was one of the first users of The Rocket®.
